Dear Colleagues,
While the official opening for the 15th Annual IAMSE Meeting begins at 6:30 pm on Saturday, June 18th, there will be plenty of opportunities for professional development during the day!
On Saturday morning there will be 3 day-long faculty development sessions offered:
• Educational Scholarship 101: Taking Your Teaching to Publication
• Comprehensive Curriculum Evaluation Design
• Simulation: Demonstrating the Clinical Relevance of the Basic Sciences
All three of which are eligible to be used towards the IAMSE Medical Educator Fellowship program. Details of this program can be found here - http://iamse.org/fellowship.htm
The Saturday afternoon workshop is opened to all meeting participants:
Developing Examinations for Integrated Courses Using the NBME Customized Assessment Services
Agata P. Butler, NBME
Developing an item pool and examinations for integrated courses can be a challenging task. In order to serve the needs for basic science assessment, the NBME has developed Customized Assessment Services that provides a flexible blueprinting system for faculty members to build integrated examinations from secure NBME item banks. The workshop will be run in an interactive, seminar-style format that provides participants with an opportunity to work in small groups to design blueprints and examinations for various curricular approaches.

Don't forget to make your hotel reservations at the official IAMSE Hotel and take advantage of the highly discounted rate!
I am looking forward to seeing you in St. Petersburg!
