This year as the 2011 Program Committee planned the sessions for the 15th Annual meeting they developed four thematic areas. The first of these is Education for a Digital World. This theme will be highlighted in the plenary session - "Use of Simulation to Access Competencies and Improve Healthcare"
This presentation will address six goals:
1. Competence evaluation and transfer of training from the simulation education laboratory to patient care settings;
2. Describe healthcare education translational science;
3. Identify features of rigorous simulation-based (S-B) healthcare education;
4. Interpret data from selected research studies on S-B transfer of training;
5. Present the big S-B education picture via meta-analysis;
6. Coda: effective S-B education interventions, lessons learned, research opportunities, productive academic teams.
The Program Committee encourages you to submit your poster abstract demonstrating how your institution is currently addressing this topic! The submission deadline is March 1, 2011
