Call for Conference Sessions - 15th Annual IAMSE Conference

Call for Conference Sessions
15th Annual IAMSE Conference
“Building Healthcare Professionals in a Medical Science Curriculum”

Dear Collegues

The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) is pleased to announce the call for Conference Focus Sessions and Conference Workshops for the 15th Annual IAMSE Conference to be held in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA from June 18-21, 2011.  All proposals must be submitted in the format requested in the attached proposal submission forms.  Please take care to use the proper form as both workshop and focus session forms are attached to this email. Submission deadline is October 30, 2010. Please submit to julie@iamse.org

Concurrent Focus Session: The purpose of a 90-minute Concurrent Focus Session is to “focus in” on a specific topic in small group discussion format. The goal is for groups of 10-50 individuals to discuss and exchange ideas on a particular topic of general interest and relevance to medical sciences education, with the aim of providing a focused, complete, interactive and competence-building learning experience. Methods can be variable but should be interactive.

Conference Workshops: The purpose of a 3-hour Conference Workshop is to delve into a topic of general interest and relevance to medical sciences education and/or to develop a skill in greater depth than would be permitted in a Focus Session.  These sessions of 10-50 participants will be held concurrently with focus sessions and other workshops.  Methods can be variable but should be interactive.

This conference will explore issues in the teaching and learning of sciences fundamental to practice in all health professions. The IAMSE annual meeting provides medical science educators a place to meet colleagues from around the world and to receive an intense faculty development experience.

Looking forward to seeing you in St. Petersburg!
